Pool rules

• During Water Aerobics/Swim Lessons, Training Pool is closed for Recreational Swimming.
• Swim caps required: Caps available for purchase at front desk or see guard for loaner caps.
• Do not enter the pool if you suspect you have or have a communicable disease or an open cut or blister.
• Wear clean swim attire only.
• Shower, using warm water and soap, before entering the pool or after use of toilet facilities.
• Children that are not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper.
• Diving is prohibited in water less than 9 feet deep.
• Spitting, spouting water from mouth or blowing the nose in the pool is prohibited.
• No extended breath-holding or hyperventilation.
• Only U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets and wearable foam flotation devices are allowed.
• Children under the age of five using approved life jackets must remain within arm’s reach of an adult.
• Do not run or engage in rough play in the pool area or locker rooms.
• Diaper changing in the pool area is prohibited. Please use locker rooms.
• Toys/balls/inflatables are prohibited.
• Do not bring animals into the pool area.
• Do not bring food, drink, gum or tobacco into the pool area.
• Glass items are prohibited in the pool area.

Pool rules

• Lap swimming is for proficient swimmers, AGES 15 and over, who can continuously swim the lap lanes. Those younger than the age of 15 must receive lifeguard approval.
• Children 7 and younger must have a parent or guardian in the same pool with them at all times.
• Children ages 8 to 14 must have a parent of guardian present at least on the pool deck at all times.
• Children under the age of 14 that would like to use the deep end of the pool, must pass a swim test given by the lifeguard on duty (swim test includes 2 lengths of proficient freestyle).
• Only Coast Guard approved life jackets are permitted (this cannot replace adult supervision) All other flotation devices will not be allowed.
• Infants and children who are not potty trained must have a swim diaper.
• Parents with children under the age of 5 should be within arm’s reach at all times.
• Diving and jumping are not permitted.
• Family swim approved toys only (soft and non-hazardous, do not obstruct lifeguard’s view, don’t create a safety risk or disturb other swimmers).
• Horseplay and other activities that could take away from a lifeguard’s ability to watch the pool in its entirety are strictly prohibited.
• Breath holding activities are strictly prohibited.
• Exercise equipment is for exercise purposes and water therapy only.
• Lifeguards must keep in mind the maximum occupancy of the pools. Family swim patrons may be limited.

Pool rules

• Minimum age for lap swim is 8 years old.
• All lap swimmers must be able to swim the entire length of the lane and may be subject to a swim test at the direction of Lifeguard staff.
• For swimmers under the age of 14, adult supervision is required.
• One or two swimmers may split a lane. Three or more swimmers must circle swim, counter-clockwise.
• Lanes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No Reservations.
• Aqua walking is allowed in the shallow end of the Recreational Pool.
• Each child under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult in the water.
• Everyone participating in Family Rec Swim must purchase a wristband.
• Diving and jumping into the pool is not allowed.
• No artificial swimming flotation devices or aquatic play equipment, except during supervised instructional lessons.
