Good to know

  • The official pages do not list facility hours for open swim or lap swim; the FAQ refers visitors to the center page or a paper handout at the center for lap and open swim times.
  • Summer hours will be limited only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday ONLY from 7-10 a.m. for lap swim, as well as 10:15-11:00 a.m. for fitness programming.
  • Indoor season passes are valid for 11 months of the year starting in January (the month of August is excluded for annual maintenance).
  • The FAQ states there is no longer a discount for residents, but the indoor passes page lists Resident and Non-Resident pricing; non-resident fees apply.
  • The pool rules page is written for outdoor pools but the rules are also posted inside the pool.

  • The Pavilion is part of Ohio State's Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC).
  • Dedicated October 14, 2005; consists of the Mike Peppe Natatorium and the Ron O'Brien Diving Well.
  • Holding nearly 1.56 million gallons of water in the entire facility.
  • No public swim hours, admission prices or season status are published on the official pages; the facility is presented as a competition venue.
  • The page http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/facilities/mccorkle-pavilion.html returns a 404 error.
  • Accessible seating is located at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
  • All entrances at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion are accessible for guests with disabilities. All guests should enter the facility through the main doors facing the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC).

Lap lanes are designated for continuous swimming and organized training; ages 13 & under must pass a swim competency test before using the lap pool.

Pool rules

  • Children 13 & under must be with an adult in the aquatic center.
  • Non-swimmers must stay within arm’s reach of an adult.
  • Spa: Ages 18+ only.
  • Slide: Height requirement 48” minimum. All patrons are measured on-site.
  • Deep Water Access: Ages 13 & under must pass a swim competency test before using deep water.
  • Lifeguards may require a swim test for any swimmer showing poor ability.
  • Those 13 and younger are required to successfully pass a swim test prior to use of the lap pool.
  • Children under 14 years of age must be directly supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
  • Non-swimmers, children 5 years of age and younger, or children using flotation devices must remain within arm’s reach of a responsible adult 18 years or older. One adult may supervise up to 2 people in water.
  • All patrons must shower before entering the water.
  • Proper swimwear is required. Street clothes are not permitted in the pools. Swim diapers are required for anyone not toilet-trained.
  • Food, beverages (other than bottled water), gum, and glass containers are prohibited in the pool area.
  • Personal flotation devices must be U.S. Coast Guard–approved. Float rafts, infant floats, tubes, inflatable water wings, or extra-large noodles are not permitted.
  • Photography and recording are not allowed without prior authorization.

Good to know

  • Indoor aquatics is part of The Well membership; daily passes also give access to the Indoor Aquatic Center.
  • Indoor Aquatics, Group Fitness Studios, & Gymnasium(s) hours: Schedules are updated monthly. Please check our website for the most up-to-date schedule.
  • General operating hours of The Well include access to the fitness floors. Specific areas of operation such as the indoor aquatic center, multi-court gyms, etc. may vary by day, time, and season.
  • The Well facility hours (Mon-Fri: 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sat-Sun: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.) are building hours, not pool hours.
